GO HOKIES!

My husband and I moved to Dahlonega, Georgia in August 1996 and I began working for McGill-Schnabel Engineering, a dam design and construction firm out of Gainesville, GA. Realizing my desire to share the amazing planet we live on with others, I attended North Georgia College and State University in Dahlonega (now called University of North Georgia) and earned my teaching certificate in middle grades math and science. I taught high school math and middle school science for 3 years at a local alternative boarding school after which I taught one year of middle school math for Lumpkin County Middle School, our county's only middle school.

In July 2003 my husband transferred to Thurmond Lake and we moved to Evans, GA with our two girls (now 18 and 16). I joined the faculty of Riverside Middle School teaching 8th grade science for the next five years. When SIMS opened in August 2008, I had the opportunity to move here to teach 6th grade science. I have been here ever since!
